The Next Level in Your Yogic Path: Course Description

Biomechanics with the Perspective of Yoga Towards Asana -  combines the scientific principles of biomechanics with the wisdom of yoga to provide a comprehensive understanding of movement in asana. While anatomy explores the body in a static, resting state—focusing on bone structure, muscle layers, and physiological aspects—biomechanics takes this knowledge into the realm of dynamic motion. In this course, we delve into the principles of biomechanics, integrating a deeper awareness of prana, or life energy, that flows through each asana.

This unique approach allows you to not only understand the physical mechanics of movement but also recognize how prana is directed, conserved, and channeled within each posture. By studying the interplay of biomechanics principles and prana, you will gain a holistic view of alignment, stability, and vitality in your yoga practice, empowering you to move with purpose, precision, and enhanced energetic awareness.

Objective:

The primary objective of this Level One course is to help participants develop a dual perspective that integrates yogic philosophy with the principles of biomechanics. Imagine layering yogic wisdom over the mechanics of the body—like two transparent sheets, one overlaying the other. Through this lens, you’ll learn to see each asana from both perspectives, creating a deeper and clearer understanding of alignment and movement.

By cultivating this dual vision, you will gain the clarity needed to correct students effectively and refine your own practice with greater awareness. This course is not just theoretical; it is a practice-based journey that encourages you to explore each posture through the mirrored lenses of yoga philosophy and biomechanics.

At the end of the course, you’ll engage in post-course activities designed to solidify and apply this knowledge over time. These activities will guide you through a period of self-reflection and practical application, helping you further develop this integrated perspective and achieve even greater clarity in your teaching and practice.
